These ingoa are derived from the tongikura from Kingi Tāwhiao:

Maaku anoo e hanga tooku nei whare.

Ko ngaa pou o roto he maahoe, he patatee.

Ko te taahuhu he hiinau.

Me whakatupu ki te hua o te rengarenga,

Me whakapakari ki te hua o te kawariki.

I shall fashion my own house. The pillars inside will be of maahoe and patatee, and the ridgepole of hiinau. Those who inhabit the house will be raised on rengarenga, and nurtured on kawariki.

WHO WE ARE

Te Kaha O Te Rangatahi Whanau o Tamaki Makaurau Trust is a registered Charitable Trust & was established in 1992 by a collective of dedicated women in response to concerns about teenage pregnancies.

In 2019 we began trading under Te Kaha O Te Rangatahi Indigenous Youth Hub. We specialise in delivering to Māori and Pasifika rangatahi and their whānau within the Counties Manukau & Auckland Region.

We believe in educating and developing our rangatahi to become Champions of Change and to take care of their whare tapawhā
